Turkish Grand Prix Replaces Canadian Stage In Formula 1 Calendar

The 2021 Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix will be replaced by a race at Istanbul Park in Turkey.

The changes are related to the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic. The Canadian Grand Prix was supposed to be held at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit, from 11 to 13 June 2021. Canadian Grand Prix canceled for the second consecutive year.

– We are grateful to the organizers and the authorities of Canada, Montreal and Quebec for their efforts in trying to host the Grand Prix in 2021. We are pleased to announce a two-year partnership with the Canadian Grand Prix.

We will work with the organizers so that people who bought tickets can receive a refund or receive tickets for the next year, the website says.

The Turkish Grand Prix returns to the calendar after last year’s November competition, in which British race car driver Lewis Hamilton, driver of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, became world champion for a record, seventh time.
