Hennessey Turns 1500 TRX Pickup Into 1,000hp SUV
The new brainchild of the Texas studio Hennessey Performance is presented – the mad Mammoth 1000 SUV. The seven-seater V8 SUV is not afraid of off-road and has the dynamics of a supercar
The Hennessey Mammoth 1000 SUV is based on the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX pickup. So far, only one image of the car has been published, but the authors of the project say that they have developed not just a superstructure over the cargo platform, but a completely original stern, which is organically integrated into the cab. The car received seven seats, new trim, and a full trunk.
The standard 6.2-liter V8 engine was equipped with a new drive supercharger, control unit, fuel injectors, and an intake system. As a result, the power increased from 712 to 1026 hp, and the maximum torque – from 881 to 1314 Nm. The motor is combined with an 8-speed “automatic”, provides acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (97 km / h) in 3.2 seconds and a quarter-mile (402 m) in 11.4 seconds. For comparison, the original Ram 1500 TRX accelerates from zero to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds and covers the drag distance in 12.9 seconds.
The off-road package includes a 2.5-inch (63.5 mm) suspension lift, custom front bumper with LED lighting, 20-inch 10-spoke wheels, custom tires, and a front suspension adjustment kit. Before being handed over to customers, the cars will undergo dynamometric tests of the hull. The warranty is 3 years or 36,000 miles (57,936 km).
John Hennessy, founder and CEO of Hennessey Performance, called the Mammoth 1000 “the king of SUVs with the perfect blend of space, power, and exclusivity.” A total of 20 copies will be released with a base price of $ 375,000 excluding taxes and shipping. Each vehicle will receive a plate with its own serial number. You can order Mammoth through Ram dealers or directly from Hennessey atelier.
