British Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton took pole in qualifying for the home Grand Prix at Silverstone.

The second time was shown by the Dutch pilot “Red Bulla” Max Verstappen, the top three was closed by the Finn Valtteri Bottas (“Mercedes”).

This qualification forms the starting grid for Saturday’s sprint, which will take place for the first time in championship history. The driver will receive 3 points for winning the sprint race, 2 points for second place, and 1 point for third place. The results of the 100 km race will determine the starting grid for the Sunday Grand Prix. Note that the second training session is also scheduled for Saturday.
