Specifications and review of the Audi RS6 Avant 2020: interior, appearance, technical content, price tag, equipment, features.

- Equipment level and price
In the second half of August 2019, Audi’s subsidiary Audi Sport presented the world with an updated generation of the charged RS6 Avant station wagon. The official premiere of the novelty, as planned, was shown to the world community at the annual Frankfurt Motor Show.
The fourth generation of the 2020 Audi RS6 Avant has an aggressive appearance and a high-performance power plant that turns the station wagon into a real rocket, mercilessly placing the speedometer needle in the lower right corner.
Running a little ahead, we note that the car has retained the practicality of a classic station wagon and offers customers a wide range of standard and optional equipment that allows you to comfortably travel at any distance.
The exterior of the Audi RS6 Avant 2020
From the point of view of external design, the charged RS6 Avant is radically different from its civilian “brother” in the shop. The only things that cars have in common are the roof, front doors, and the luggage compartment lid.
The front of the station wagon sports formidable head optics (optionally with matrix laser-phosphor headlights), a huge 6-corner radiator grille, and a powerful front bumper with large triangular sections of air intakes and a sports splitter. The embossed hood with the power dome deserves special attention.
The profile of the car captures the eye with smooth lines, muscular aerodynamic “skirts”, circular wheel arches, and R21 alloy wheels of an exclusive design. The manufacturer emphasizes that in comparison with the regular Audi A6 Avant, the wheel arches have been widened by 40 mm each, which adds to the power of the car.
The rear of the station wagon is represented by expressive sidelights with LED filling, a large luggage compartment door, and a monumental rear bumper with a spectacular diffuser and a pair of oval “trunks” of the exhaust system.
It is worth paying tribute to the German designers, who once again managed to reward the station wagon with a bright, dynamic, and, most importantly, harmonious appearance.
External dimensions of the Audi RS6 Avant 2020:
Length, mm 4943
Width, mm 1886
Height, mm 1470
Wheelbase, mm 2924
The manufacturer notes that the track of the front and rear wheels have been expanded to 1668 and 1651 mm, respectively. Like previous generations, the novelty has received a wide range of body colors, which will satisfy the needs of any buyer.
2020 Audi RS6 Avant interior
The interior of the new Audi RS6 Avant 2020 is made in the best traditions of the brand: first-class finishing materials, impeccable assembly, and verified ergonomics.
In front of the driver there is a spectacular sports multifunction steering wheel with a cut-off lower rim and a branded RS-badge, as well as a large virtual instrument panel, on which any information of interest to the driver can be displayed, be it navigation, speed, the state of pre-installed systems, etc.
In the central part of the front dashboard, there are two touch screens, where the upper one is responsible for the information and multimedia component, and the second one is for displaying and setting the climate system. Among the finishing materials used are soft plastics, genuine leather, carbon fiber, brushed metal, and Alcantara.
For the front riders, the manufacturer has prepared first-class sports seats that boast excellent lateral support, electrical adjustments in all possible directions, and various benefits of civilization. On the backs of the seats, there is even an embossing with the RS sign, which makes it possible to instantly identify a “charged” station wagon.
The rear sofa can accommodate three people, but due to the wide transmission tunnel and the high central cushion, maximum comfort is guaranteed for only two people.
Among the available “chips” – a separate block of deflectors and display settings for the climate system, as well as a folding center armrest with pre-installed cup holders. The backrests of the rear bench are also made with the RS branding.
Unfortunately, we do not know the exact volume of the trunk, but it is likely that it is identical to the luggage compartment of its civilian counterpart and is 565 liters. The possibilities of transforming the rear sofa remained unchanged, which allows to more than double the volume of the loading space.
In the luggage compartment underground there is a tool kit and a compact spare wheel, which is indispensable on a long journey.
Separately, we note that the manufacturer offers several color options for the interior of the Audi RS6 Avant 2020, where the option with brown leather seats looks especially stylish.
2020 Audi RS6 Avant Specifications
So we got to the most important thing, namely, the technical characteristics of the “heated” station wagon.
Under the hood of the Audi RS6 Avant, an upgraded 4-liter V8 bi-turbo petrol engine is installed, supplemented by the proprietary mild hybrid system Mild Hybrid. The motor is capable of delivering a peak of 600 hp. from. and limit 800 Nm of torque. His partner is a modern 8-speed automatic transmission, which provides the station wagon with acceleration from 0 to 100 in just 3.6 seconds, and from 0 to 200 in just 8.4 seconds.
The maximum declared speed is 250 km / h, but this is far from all the potential that the power unit is capable of. Despite the impressive dynamics, the car has a moderate “appetite”, consuming an average of about 11.5 l / 100 km in mixed travel mode.
The car is equipped with a proprietary 4-wheel drive system – Quattro, supplemented by a mechanical center differential. The station wagon’s arsenal also includes a controlled chassis, air suspension with sporty characteristics, a proprietary transmission mode selection system, as well as optional electronically controlled shock absorbers.
A few separate words should be said about the Audi drive sеlêt system, which, in addition to the classic operating modes, has two extreme modes – RS1 and RS2, which are activated by pressing a special button on the steering wheel.
As standard, the Audi RS6 Avant is equipped with disc brakes with a diameter of 420 and 370 mm at the front and rear, respectively, but for an additional charge, they can be replaced with carbon-ceramic mechanisms with a diameter of 440 and 370 mm.
